Is it possible to be ethnical as well as ethical? Can I be White and right? (Buckle up for my next entry called "40 things Malema and the ANC need to know right now").

I don’t reply to personal insults. That’s Vlismas and Huisgenoot territory. I did reply to M&G but why would the liberal pro-con peacenik huddle be impartial? So, read it here.

I have always found replying to the Vlismas school of thought most enjoyable. He remains a comedian, after all. Is it because he is so typical of the old progressive school? Who never consider that the willful blindness of the right is countered only by the vain cliché of the left? The liberal establishment needs us to be one homogenous, happy family or else the rest of the sand castle called The New South African Narrative collapses. This is why the South African government will go against their own constitution to regulate assimilation and association (Jimmy Manyi).  This is why they scream against tribalism, as if it can be prosecuted by law (Trevor Manuel). Demographic distinctions muddle the water, don’t they?
Enter the bad news. Too many South Africans think differently. I am one. Overkill on concomitance is wishful thinking. I don’t trust the clear water.
I am an Afrikaner. And a Boer. White. I am that right now. I am the sum total of the good, the bad and the wide travels of this genetic disposition. We come with our own unique momentum and celebrate the momentum of others. When Justice Malala asked: “But, Steve, who are you when you are doing nothing but breathing?” I answered: “Exactly”. One day we will all be green, with one monetary unit, one psychological mindset and one language (probably Chinese), but that day is not now. In fact, I can think of no beter icebreaking debate in any South African company than the question: what is a South African? Prepare to duck, brother. Take it further. Ask your company who they are first and foremost in identity: South African, Christian, Zulu, Boer, Black, European, African, White...? Then sit down, because the diversity of replies will astound you. Memorably answers: a father (said Max du Preez), a Catholic (said Mondli Makhanya), Black (said Fred Khumalo) and South African (said Amanda Singleton) and an Afrikaner (said I).

This is unacceptable, says Vlismas and Manuel and the whole bevy of lefty dreamers. It’s Verwoerdian, cries Mngxitama. We are not to be anything but that one size fits all, that fits them so nicely.

How damning the liberal vanity. To arrogate to yourself first class citizenship preferable to those localised folk who do not see themselves as South Africans first, who regain the proud gleam in their eye only when that identity they most naturally associate with is mentioned: the constitutional but strangely contested 'my people'. Earlier presidents often called upon citizens to go back to their communities and tribes to readdress security and poverty. It is no sin to NOT have such a community, but those South Africans can not deny Indian, Brown, Afrikaner, Zulu, Greek and Japanese citizens who know exactly where to go. Hence the prudent South African slogan: Unity in Diversity.

Consider the Three Musketeers’ all for one and one for all myth – yes, demographic denial is a very old liberal past time. As a choice, it is commendable, as a moral high ground, it sucks. It certainly is not popular enough to withstand democratic scrutiny, but let’s not vote it into oblivion just yet. We’re not like them, you see.
In spite of reading statistics differently no-one can be told when the hair in the nape of their necks should stand up. In my case I speak up for a very specific (denied) demographic. With almost 4000 disproportionately brutal murders in sixteen years on a particularly defenseless group of my people, Boer farmers have sported an unhealthy 5/8 position on international Genocide Watch forums. For Bono’s ignorance of this bitter fact, I threw my U2 tickets in the Jukskei River. The only reaction I got was an appeal from environmental groups to not do that again. Ah, the luxuries of sitting pretty!
Vlismas wants me to play euphemisms by starting my search for the murderers under the broad definition of South African. Exactly the opposite of what was expected of Afrikaners when there was a global request to give Apartheid a face and a name. Many of us rose to that occasion by immediately voting yes for a new democratic government (of any tribe).

Liberals love flagging Proudly South African around, despite the contested definitions and the sad fact that today it has little more reference than geographic contours and sports events. Not everybody belongs automatically, not everybody chooses to and this right should also be protected, but never at the cost of those who do exhibit the need to belong. Vlismas abuses it in the name of pandering to what he believes are the masses. Meanwhile, it is quite possible to be ethnical as well as ethical. But will we be allowed? Well, many of us will not have the liberally-shortsighted hijack a right most of us cherish.

Yes, what about the other farmers? The “other” South African farmers, as Vlismas generalizes conveniently.  Remember, South Africanist fascists and other wishful lefties don’t dare go the localized route. By imposing a global identity on everybody, many escape blame. Pretty morality, but ethical? No go. Genocide is fun when it is not happening to you. Turning a blind eye is great if it clears the path for you and your ilk.
There are many answers to his question “what about other farmers?”:

Firstly, what about the Egyptian camel during the Kaïro protests? Or the Jewish school bus set on fire in Lyon, April 2002. What about the threatened fern species in New Zealand? Or the dead dog on the Ben Schoeman? Exactly. What about it. It’s tragic, but compared to having your family extinguished, affords everybody different spikes on their emotional radar. Please do not prescribe how diverse groups should mourn the losses of what they consider to be their people or issues.

Secondly. Certain statistics should be absorbed more objectively. The other famers murdered by “South Africans” amount to a mere 4% of the total. Unacceptable, (also increasing) but hardly genocidal. Using the conservative TLU statistic of 1500 farm murders (with namens and dates at hand), that demographic is dying at 188 per 100,000, 188 times more than Canada, Brittain or Australia, 37 times more than the international norm and 6 times higher than the already devastating South African average! We may fret, not?

Thirdly, ask yourself why the government never part with demographically charged murder and crime stats? Just imagine finding South Africa’s #1 enemy in his own backyard and solving crimes by virtue of looking in the right places! We know the SA death rate is a lie: if 40% of 126 000 gunshot wounds are fatal (Netcare/ER), we’re making Columbia look like Comedy Night.
Fourthly, “other” South African demographics and tribes enjoy the freedom of zero hate speech songs against them. Songs sanctioned and defended in court by our government. “Kill The Boer” is as hateful as hate speech gets. How should we react, your Honours? What shall I do, Oh Bono?

Life of Brian comes to mind:
How shall we fuck off, oh Lord?

We shall not. We shall be proud of who we are and why we campaign. We shall remain good neighbours.
But if the judges in the Kill The Boer trail remotely think like Bono, Vlismas, Julius and the ANC, it will be open season on hate speech creativity.
I beg you, DO NOT GO THERE.

Trace murders in your area here.

Tally farm victim names here.
